The art of woodcarving has a long history along the East African coast and flourished in Zanzibar. The bigger the wealth or the social position of it's owner, the larger and more elaborately carved their front door would be. 

Our handcrafted frames are made in Zanzibar by Amour and a small team of skilled woodworkers. Amour uses old doors and windows that people bring him. While greeting everyone that passes his shop, he transforms these pieces of wood into beautiful frames, by adding carved details. With every purchase you also buy a piece of history.
